Dental Hygienist

Job Description

Our growing office is looking for a full-time dental hygienist to join our team. For this position you will:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including teeth cleaning, scaling, and polishing
- Take and develop dental x-rays using medical imaging equipment
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized dental care instructions
- Assist the dentist during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation of patient treatments and progress
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient and effective patient care
- Stay up-to-date with current advancements in dental hygiene techniques and technologies

Requirements:
- Valid Dental Hygiene license in Iowa
- Proficient in medical terminology and understanding of dental procedures
- Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred
- Knowledge of vital signs and ability to assess overall health systems
- Familiarity with Eaglesoft or similar dental practice management software
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients and provide compassionate care
- Experience in dental office assisting or CAD (Computer-Aided Design) is a plus

PREFERENCES:

  • RDH licenses required
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Knowledge of dental treatment, instrumentation, and sterilization methods
  • Knowledge of OSHA and infection control
  • Experience with radiography protocol & impression taking

Duties:

  • Provide preventive dental care, including cleanings and periodontal maintenance
  • Take and interpret X-rays
  • Assess oral health and document findings for the dentist
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and home care
  • Maintain infection control and sterilization standards
  • Administer local anesthesia (as permitted)
  • Support clinical efficiency and assist with other duties as assigned
  • Providing an exceptional patient experience

Full-time or Part-time

Salary:

$37.00 - $50.00 per hour
